    I've been Money Tipped!
Plus things like multimap.com also use aerial photography as well. And pretty much any other mapping site.

Can anybody help? Everytime I try to print an aerial photo from Multimap, I get the other half of the road all garbled. Any suggestions please?

try https://www.flashearth.com you can see the aerial photos from a variety of providers. I also like https://www.aboutmyplace.co.uk, for most urban areas they have overhead aerial shots and angled birds eye shots form four different directions.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

To answer the original poster's question about imaging updates in Google Earth, it is done whenever Google decide to do it - if you see what I mean. To get a heads up on what is new, subscribe to their excellent monthly email newsletter The Sightseer - http://earth.google.com/sightseer_signup.html

Here are some previous issues - http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/postlist.php/Cat/0/Board/khGlobe

Each issue of the Sightseer lists the new images and other layers release in Google Earth. The last release, for example, provided new high quality images over much of Wales so for the first time you can see superb detail in places like Snowdonia. Go into South Wales though and the imaging is even better - stunning in places.

Some people seem to get a heads up before the photos are taken, as proven by the rude words people write out in bales of hay etc...

And some don't seem to get enough of a heads up, like when China's top secret submarine gets photographed into Google Earth. :rotfl: :rotfl:
