Reverse charges! I feel so stupid!

Our son is in America for a year before Uni - he has paid for it all himself - saved very hard. However, he phoned and reversed the charges and we accepted the call - delighted to hear from him as you can imagine. I know we should have checked out the charges but we didn't and now we have a massive phone bill ............. we would have been cheaper going out there to see him! We are so annoyed with ourselves. The automated voice of the operator certainly did not inform us of the charges.

You are not the only one, so don't feel to bad about it.
Someone posted a while back that they had a £2000 bill.
I hope your bill is not that bad.0 -
Easily done in the excitement of hearing from him I expect - you are aware of cheap ways for you to call him now, aren't you?
http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/usaTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Phew - Thank goodness not as much as £2,000 - £500 seems a small amount now - thanks for that!!! I feel marginally better ................ and I am going to check out cheaper options to speak to him! It has been a lesson learned for sure.0
