    My only objection was that this thread was going way off topic and its not nice to be subscribed to a thread (as the op) and to come in and see arguing and bickering amongst "professionals" when you are already in two minds on whether a visit to the doctors would be seen as time wasting
  • Mr Rush, Toothsmith, my comments were intended to be tongue in check, I know that all health professionals are busy and are under different pressures. I do think though that all GP registrars should have to spend time in a community pharmacy so they can see what we have to deal with.

    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
