Should I go to the doctor ?

Hopefully the mods will let me post this as I am not seeking medical advice.
I have been told by several people recently that I am not looking well, although I feel alright in myself. Would you go to the doctor "just in case" or do you think they'd write me off as a hypochondriac?
Thoughts please,
mto

That would make me feel ill loads of people telling me I wasn't looking well! How rude! Have you lost weight? That can make people look ill sometimes. If you have and you haven't been trying then you do need to go to the docs.0

No, I've not lost weight. It's been mainly people that I see daily that have told me, but one person I hadn't seen for a couple of months. Personally I didn't find it rude, just a bit concerning, hence the post.0

Have you yourself noticed anything different? Have you changed your hair or make up?
Sounds silly, I know, but people are funny

TBH if you feel well, and you haven't lost weight I can't really see that you would be ill?0

if you dont feel unwell then i dont see the necessity of seeing a dr.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

No offence but you might just be looking old or something! Or you might have a new foundation that makes you look like a ghost! I am normally pretty dark skinned (sort of spanish type colouring) and at this time of year when I haven't been in the sun for ages people say I look pale. Compared to most people I am still dark but for me it is pale! Try a bit of fake tan then see what they say!0

I would ask "What do you mean, I don't look well?" If they say you're looking yellow, then go to the GP. If you're looking very pale, you could be anaemic. If you're looking very tired, ditto.
But I personally would need a bit more to tell the GP than "people say I don't look well" to get me there!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
MTO- genrally, the rule would be, if you feel well, you are well. Ask your close family to be totally honest with you and tell you why exactly they think you look ill. Are you pale? Are you thinner in the face? Does your face look puffy, swollen or anything else. do you feel more tired than usual, or have difficulty doing things you normally do. I'd say if none of these apply to you and you dont feel ill, just inform them kindly that you feel well.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

This is a subject very close to home.
Since returning from holiday in February, many people have told my husband he doesn't look well. It was fairly understandable as he had a virus and chest infection whilst we were away and he just thought that this had "taken it out of him" and he was taking a while to get back on his feet.
Now, after so many people telling him and myself and d-i-l nagging him, he eventually went to the doctors last week. Blood tests immediately, hospital phoned same day, specialist appointment the next day. In his case the news is not good, he is in hospital for 24 hours tomorrow for extensive tests with the possibility of one of two diagnoses. One gives him more hope than the other but he wont know for a month.
If people are telling you you don't look well, just go along to the docs and tell him just that. Say you don't have any particular symptoms but as so many people have said you don't look well you thought, just to be on the safe side, you'd pop along for a chat and a check up to put your mind at rest.
The fact that you don't have any symptoms doesn't matter. What they are testing hubby for can go symptomless for years and years and it reaches a point when one thing can push it over the edge, in his case the virus did it.
Please go to see your doc just to reassure yourself.0
