Chev - I'm very jealous :) Hopefully it'll be our turn to pack up the house soon.

You sound very organised and VERY excited - I'm not at all surprised.

When we go, we plan to go with just suitcases ... but then we don't have any children to consider. So, decluttering has started in earnest.

floss we are flying we think on the 10th june. The container will arrive on the 10th july ish. I am not sure if excited is the right word. I think when we are on the plane i will start getting excited, but right now I am more worried about the container making it to new zealand. And what to do with my cats. Have to start trying really hard to find them a new home.

One day, I would be incapable of going to NZ without a load of stuff. I hadn't realised before just how much of a hoarder of certain things I am. Especially books!

It is amazing how big the house looks now without all of the furniture in it. I am going to try very hard to keep my next house tidier than we have this one!

Hi chev, I am glad to see the computer is not packed! It will be a very strange month for you before you are reunited with your stuff. Have you got a home to go to over there? And have you found tenants for your house here?

You haven't mentioned the oil leak saga recently, has that been resolved?

hi seax the oil tank sags is on its way to the finance ombudsman

ref where we will live, no idea, as OH hasn't got a job yet, so no idea as to what will be the best location. I shall be gently nagging him next week to get him to try and at least set up some interviews for when we get there.

And no, no tenants yet, the lady who came around wasn't interested in the end.

Well we have now got the decorators in and they are doing a grand job.

Found out that the shipping company may well owe us some money because we had paid a deposit when we originally were going to do this 3 years ago.

Still no definite word on what to do about the cats, but I do now have a number of someone who will take them to rehouse them, so that is a bit of a weight off.

    cheers

    Just typical this is.
    Have packed the house,
managed to not pack any ebay items:D
So things should be going ok.

    BUT

Now we have a serious problem. I have been trying to find a foster home for my two old cats since February. But a lot of my friends have had a really tough year already so can't oblige.

leafleted the area where we live nothing.

So phone Cats Protection, and get told that they have 15 cats on a waiting list already (just to go into their home), and that as my two cats are 20 and 17 they wouldn't take them anyway because they would just sit in their pens and never be rehomed.

I am really quite shocked and upset. I have even had the receptionist at my vet practice, suggest euthanasia:eek: , which I thought they wouldn't do but there you go.

So I have found a website that is a database for all the cat rescue places in England and Wales (how fab is that, that someone has taken the time to do that?). So will have to trog through them tomorrow.

    So keep your fingers crossed.

Oh bad luck Chev, that must be really distressing. I do hope you find somewhere. Have you posted on the Pets Forum here at MSE? Someone there pointed me to a useful mouse website when I needed one!
