I won't tell you how long I've been waiting for my claim then.

I have no idea who's "fault" it was we didn't know, guess ours.

We were told it couldn't be backdated! More money we should have been entitled to but never got

If you are late in informing TCO they wont backdate.

If you have been awarded DLA and it has been backdated by them, TCO should also backdate as it is not your fault that it may have taken them a while to decided the date they will pay from.

We were actually mis-informed by an advisor that I didn't get a high enough DLA for my parents to get the child element but funnily enough it was never recorded in their notes.

  • i got into the habit of writing to them everytime i rang them....i kept copies of every letter. i would advise everyone to do the same. i also get the name of whoever i speak to and note down the date and time...that way i know exactly and can always go back and refer to it. it seems tedious at times but its well worth doing

Gemmzie, if your parents were misadvised, why dont they ask for a recording of the call they made? Its unlikely that a call was not recorded on the notes on the claim, not recorded on the database that lists every call received, and not audio recorded as well.
  • I just wanted ot give an update incase anyone else found themselves in a similar situation to me....
Just to recap...i wasnt receiving the correct amount of ctc as the t0 hadnt taken into consideration dla. I contacted them and after a little too-ing and fro-ing i have received payment. It took them 9 days.
