Camper Van/ Learner Driver: Help!

Hi, Wondered if anyone had any advice on where I could pick up a used camper van in the Norfolk/Sufolk area? I have tried free ads, ebay etc and there doesn't seem to be much available and what is available is far too big! I am looking to spend £5/6000 including insurance and tax. At the moment I'm learning to drive (age 23) so it will obviously be expensive to insure me on it. However, my boyfriend has been driving for years so if he is the main driver and I am an additional driver hopefully this will bring the cost down. Does anyone have any experience of new drivers being insured on these sort of vehicles? Also, does anyone have any advice on what would be the best sort to buy? It needs to sleep 2 and not be too big for me to drive and park!I love VWs but they seem to have gone up quite a lot now that they're so trendy! Any ideas very welcome. Thank you!

these are proving to be very popular and have heard a lot of good reviews about them.
dont know how insurance would go as they are imports though. worth asking insurance companies about though.
more comfortable than an old vw camper and more economical and a bit faster too....work permit granted!0 -
Wrong time of year to be looking for a camper
vw"s are overated and overpriced, and very
expenceive to get repaired if they go wrong,
why not get a van with a couple of windows on
the side, and put a foldup bed and portable toilet in
camping cooker,water container,and your away.
have a look around the CAR BOOT SALES and
you"ll get most of it cheap.
As for the van ,for that money you"ll get an 03/04 transit
semi-high-roof you can stand up in,a lot of people start off
that way until they can afford something better.

I thought the bongos looked good. But they don't look all that good in reality. I rushed down to a dealer about 2 years ago, expecting to want one... and walked away most disappointed.0

Campervans are hard to source in norfolk/suffolk and most coastal areas. The dealerships tend to hold on to them as the prices are strong. Simpsons Gt Yarmouth is pricey, there is a place on the A12 but that deals with caravans more than motorhomes. Sometimes you see them go through the car auctions though, but at a greater risk. Some people I know have travelled to a place in Grantham for vans before now, I think there is a huge dealer over there.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
There are three types of people in the world, those who can add up and those who can't.0
