Best Shop for Students

What's your number one shop for students?

Was wandering round Wilkos today and realised just how wonderful it is!! Everything a student could need (except food and clothes) under one roof and at decent prices! Especially for those 'living out' for the first time, they have household things like clothes airers for £1.49 and mugs are BOGOF. Toiletries are also much cheaper than Boots / Superdrug. Loads of kitchen stuff and cleaning products. They have a small range of furniture (mainly tables and chairs), some great storage, v cheap stationary and even cheap underwear!

My other top shop is Home Bargains, they're a bit hit and miss sometimes, but they also have toiletries and household stuff for cheaper than most places. They have a small range of cheap food which seems to change weekly (currently large KitKat Chunkys for 19p; 3 packs of Maryland Choc Chip Cookies for 99p; have seen Fray Bentos pies for 40p before and big jars of Homepride sauce for 30p) they also have a limited range of cheap booze! Their best item tho is very funky stripy / patterned disposable cameras for £1.50! (That's even cheaper than Tesco Value!) Essential for remembering those nights out in Freshers' Week! :j

    Wilkos is great!

Ikea is good for lamps and storage and things if you can get there.

Tesco every time! I love the mega 24 hour ones - everything including food and clothes! Brilliant - I have been known to spend over 3.5 hours in there - lol! Too much time on my hands....hehehe :)

in terms of discounting, Topshop will give you a discount on EVERYTHING. Concessions, vintage, shoes everything. So if you like stuff like Punkyfish, Freedom, Faith shoes etc it's worth going to topshop concessions in order to get the 10% discount. They also discount sale items (well they did in oxford circus where i worked)

SOunds like they've got some good stuff in for Freshers at the mo http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=97052
And I've just found out our Tesco is the largest in Europe! How cool!!

emma_b - I noticed it was sneaky postering of Wilkos - the 25% was off certain marked goods and available to everyone, but they were trying to grab the students attention. It's still the cheapest tho!
