in Credit cards
Hi, I just wanted to find out if any of you have dealt with citicards before, I was thinking to apply for the Citi platinum visa card (mainly for the extended warranty it gives) however I have heard some mixed reviews about there customer service, I dont mind as long as they have reasonable customer service..was going to apply for there gold one but they have an annual fee of £25 so platinum will probably be a better choice (if they accept me that is).
I dont mind about the interest rate as I always pay off in full via direct debit.
Opinions will be appreciated!
Thanks

Thanks grumbler, that doesnt sound good, I may as well just leave it as direct debit is a must!.
I'll just have to do without the extended warranty stuff for now.0 -
I can't complain about the citicard platimum card. You are able to pay by debit card over the phone which only takes 2 days, which i find by far the easiest method.
I pay off my bill every month and have never been charged interest. Statements are clear. So far from my experience I'd recommend them.
Ive only spoke to CS to check a payment was made ... nothing too complicated!0 -
My citibank chip and pin cc doesn't work at Tescos garages. It just shows as "declined" when they put it in the system, and when you call citibank they say it's a problem with Tesco's software and to take it up with Tescos myself. They aren't interested in sorting it out which I guess means they lose money on potential transactions. Anbody else had similar problems?0

I applied for CITI BANK credit card about 3 years ago, got a letter of acceptance, signed the credit agreement, returned it and never heard from them again, no card, no nothing LOL
So, I called then ot see what was happening and they denied all knowlege of me applying, so I figured I would cut my losses there and then, I mean who wants a card with a customer service team that don't even know who you are? LOL

I've got the Citi Platinum cashback card - no problems at all so far. Declined once at one place - can't remember where now exactly, but think it was a petrol station (Shell?).

My wife applied for a Citi cashback card online a few months ago. I noticed in the small print shown on the screen that it said "if you're not accepted for this card we may offer you another card". A few days later she got a letter from them saying "Congratulations, you have been accepted". She was about to sign and send off the agreement when I pointed out to her that there was no mention of cashback on the letter. At my insistence she phoned them to ask if the card had cashback or not. When she came off the phone she was totally confused because they had told her all the wonderful features of the card without actually answering her question. I persuaded her to call again and she had the same problem. They just wouldn't give her a straight answer.
So we threw their letter away and never heard from them again. We both have excellent credit ratings, never been turned down for anything etc. etc. so there was no reason for them to turn her down. If they had just said "no" that would have been fair enough. But to try to mislead her into accepting a non-cashback card without actually saying so is just bad behaviour. We don't need to do business with a company like that.Eh?? I give up!! Towel is getting thrown in here!0
