Call18866 vs Call1899

I see that Call1899 has overtaken Call18866 as being cheaper. But is this only when calling mobile phones?

I'm just wondering if its worth changing over? (I'm currently with 18866).

If I do, does anyone know how to cancel 18866? Do I just stop using it?

TIA

  • There's nothing to stop you signing up with 1899 as well as 18866. If, in the future, 18866 becomes cheaper than 1899 then you can simply start using them again.

Call1899 are cheaper on some international destinations than Call18866 but the situation is reversed as well for some other international destinations. Apart from that and mobile calls as you mention then not really much difference.

What I suspect (but hope I'm wrong) is that if everyone moves from 18866 to 1899 then 1899 may get carried away and increase their connection fee by 1p due to extra customers they'll have gained from 18866.

As the new kid on the block - 18185 - has done (but they're cheaper - per minute - to Spain and to UK mobiles at weekends, so I'm not complaining*).

    * Because I only use 'em for dialling Spain and UK mobiles at weekends.
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
    They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").
  • Its a shame that 18185 cant get their 0808 and 020 Cable/Mobile access numbers up and running.
