    morning all,

a little reminder for me as to what i have to do..

check paypal to see if an e-cheque has cleared and then i can request my money, woner if i can pay it straight onto virgin visa rathern than direct to bank then transferring it. will have to check.

i need to chase up money bookers to try to withdraw my little bingo win, again this can go towards virgin visa target.

i've checked online banking and all seems in order, but i will keep any eye on it, and chane my sig when loan payment comes out on thursday, another £140.10 off total.

still not sure of doing craft fair so will have to try to find out.

Bettter get ready to go to work and make myself a butty. I've found taking an empty purse and a card for an account with only £20 in (just in case i get caught out with needing fuel or something) has stopped my little tesco trips! makes me think before i spend and ask do i really need it! ive also massively cut down on cigs too.. i've had 2 since saturday, and when my pack is empty i am refusing to buy any more, plus it's have to come out of my £20 so thats not happening!

good luck all with your journeys and keep up the good work :T

    Morning all,

just sat watching gmtv while having my coffee before i brave getting myself and little lad ready for work, well not for him its nursery, and they were going on about the cost of food and how many people are turning to budget brands. i so wish i had sky plus to record it and show it OH! He's such a snob with food  although i did get him to have some tesco value bread, tea cakes and cheese slices, so its a start i guess. We do shop a lot at netto as it is soooo close, so we get a lot of stuff from there but every so often i like to venture out as they don't do veggie stuff so i can stock up.. anyways...

i'm still chasing moneybookers and waiting for an e-cheque to clear in paypal, i do wishthey'd both hurry up so i can pay off some more virgin

    morning all,

im feeling really fed up this morning, as thigs arent moving or shifting quick enough! I requested my cash out from paypal but this is not going to be able to go on debt this month as my pterol budget is not enough, like yesterday i did 50 business miles and the usual 50 to and from work miles so i'm pushing more towards £65 a week, hence the paypal is going to have to go in my 'bills' account to cover some of the extra money spent on petrol so i dont go overdrawn instead of virgin visa  i'm wafling now!

on a positve note OH took me to bingo tonight, he paid for everything and gave me £5 to play on fruit machine, i usually play the 10p push thing cos i dont know what to do and always end up with about £6 at the end of the night in 10ps which go into xmas fund. but last night i decided to play bingo in between the games and won £30! so that will go on petrol and a gift voucher for a friends birthday.

well, little lad is shouting me now so going to go, good luck all

i'm feeling more fed up than ever now as my debt is just rising..

£100 excess for tv for insurance company for tv
needed 2 new tyres, one blew and the other had a slit in, so that was £150 OH sorted it but i paid, im sure he could have got cheaper.
what else, there was something.. oh, thats it went to asda to do a big shop and i paid as i felt guilty as OH has bough for months and kept dropping comments - but came out of overdraft

i decided as well to clear the non 0% virgin debt using my overdraft as the interest is less in my overdraft, plus it makes me even less tempted to use that account if i need anything as its in minus numbers, a psychological thing for me, if its minus i wont use it plus i think it will get cleared quicker this was as my wages get paid into this account so will gradually clear it, hopefully in the next 3 months or so.

my DFD just keeps getting further and further way.

on a positive note i hve just requested cahback from greasey palm which is just over £45 so that will help towards overdraft.

i'm also going to try to do this carboot next weekend as that will help a little.

its really hard with OH as he just doesnt see us as in bad debt, his mates have got worse than us he says and we can afford it. Yeah, weve never missed a payment but it would be nice to have more money spare at end of the month as he seems to forget we are on an interest only mortgage, he's self employed so i worry lots about that. It was due to no work i got the first loan to clear the visas we'd run paying everyday bills. Then the second to buy him a van as he had defaulted and i phoned them up to collect it as he's not paid for a whole year (before i got with him) I managed to get him straight, all told he owed about £45,000, that is now gone completely through hard work and me getting 2 loans, i mean the money on virgin visa is when we did our kitchen 3 years ago in our old house!!!! oh, i'm just ranting on but i'm so fed up i could cry, for the last 5 years i have lived off my overdraft and been continuously in debt, before i got with OH i had none which is what frustrates me and he doesnt understand. He really gets my back up when he says 'i have no debt'. no because i'm paying it all.... right, moan over now.. must think positive...

to look forward to... pay rise next month as i've been there another year, and i'll get another when the unions finally agree one for the NHS!
what else... pay day on the 26th... banking greasy palm cheque.. oh roll on next may.. seems like i'm wishing my life away i'm not, just the debts!

well, i'm off to do some washing.

    Good luck all....

Hi Bridget! I really sympathise, your situation sounds very much like mine, big debts run up through bailing out a self-employed OH. It is frustrating and annoying and sometimes demoralising. Poor us!

It sounds as if you're on top of things generally though, so don't take the odd setback too hard. Hope you get to do the carboot next weekend.

thanks sea, sometimes you just feel a little alone although i know i am not. This board is such a great place for support and advice and great place to vent those feelings and get things off your chest..

as for today it will be a no spend day today and a very busy one with work. I have made my buttys to take, put a wash on on 30 and will line dry it. Other than this dont know what else dfw style i can do... still feeling a little fed up , i think when it could get below 6,000 i will feel much better, feels like i have owed 7 thousand something forever!

as for car boot not going to be next weekend as i forgot it is fathers day! i'll try for the week after.

    good luck all..

  • Hi Bridget, I'm still reading just don't post much sorry.

I know you feel down but you've made such massive progress from £29,000 and even if the remaining debt is not going down as fast as you wished its not going up and you are still saving with all your DFW ways.

Did you check if the tax credits owed you any back pay?

    hi Bridget,

don't feel bad about about the car tyres. I think £150 sounds quite reasonable and even cheap depending on your car. I'm about £100 a tyre.

Have you looked into the nursery voucher scheme from your employer. Both you and OH can have money deducted from wages for nursery fees before tax so for every £100 less net wage you get £120 of childcare vouchers.
