i was looking at some subbuteo from a seller i have dealt with so i could post a reply in another thread so i watched it and upon waking up this morning it ended at £250.00 nowt strange about that but i looked at bid history and the increments were weird (and before anyone asks there was NO RESERVE so that is not the reason:rolleyes: ) the last two bids were £200.00 and the winner was £250.00? why did the auction go up an increment of £50.00?
any ideas will be welcome

looks like the winner put £250 on as his maximum bid and 'another bidder' has entered £195 so this shows as £200 then the same bidder or 'another bidder' has entered £245 so this goes to £250. Looks a bit suss as most bidders who want to win would go just over the £200 mark but with a private auction you cant see what is going on.0

There was a reserve on the lot, winning bidder was bidding against the reserve price..0

I think it could be that as the price goes up so does the increment. I noticed this when I bid on a much cheaper item. It started off in increments of about 20p then went up to increments of about 50p. Seems a bit silly on expensive items as you might just want to bid £1 more but it isn't an option.
ps - just found this explaining it all.

It says on the top left of the page "reserve met", that may be a clue....0 -
nope that can't be it either it only goes up in £50.00 increments once it reaches £1500.01 and this was 200.00 with what should have been a £5.00 increment next making £205.00 not £250.00
