smart car road tax

My smart car came yesterday,its great. i got it from smart liverpool they delivered it and got it taxed for me. I sent the £35 for the road tax and all was fine.... until i saw that it said £120 on the tax disc. I rang smart and are going to get back to me on Monday. I've checked every web site going and the only thing that i can see is that it has been registered with the wrong size tyres, it is a 55 reg not a new one. What should i do next and where do i stand

not sure whats happened here,is the disc definatly for your car,reg number the same?

Yes, its our reg number and everything..... times dragging now it's a great car and what to keep it but feel they have sold it us even after us saying we only wanted a car in the £35 tax bracket

Have you asked on one of the smart owners forums? I had a smart and my understanding was they were in the £35 band except for a few 2001 passion models

Our smart car is £35 to tax, we've just had the forms to renew and it's definitely not gone up. Seems like they've made a mistake.
