child tax credit confusion underpayment ??? sure start grant ??

i just recieved a payment from ctc for £131 my usual amount is £237 a month..... i also thought it was due nxt week ...i did phone up and renewal over the phone a week ago or so ...am just worried as i was expecting the full £237 ( though not till next week ) and now will be short this month by £100 !!!! also i am expecting a baby and wonder if i would get " sure start grant" i am not sure if i get more than the basic family element of CTC does anyone know ???

This could be what they owe you from April up until they processed your renewal. I received an extra amount last Thursday and still received my payments on the following Monday, a new amount because tax credits have increased. Hope this helps.

That will probably just be an extra payment, we renewed last year and had a one off payment and again this year i rang Monday and we had an extra payment go in on friday. You should still get your money next week although the amounts may have changed if your circumstances have in the last year.

The basic element of CTC is £545 per year This works out at £10.48pw or £41.92pm (4wks)

You receive a lot more than that so you are receiving the full amount of CTC.

You have to be earning around £20k+ to qualify for just the family element. You obviously earn quite a considerable amount under this.

Because of this, you should be entitled to the £500 maternity grant.
