Hi,
I'm looking for an incoming VOIP service with free voicemail, Tesco and SIPGate spring to mind, but neither offer a 0207/8 Geographical Number - only ones from elsewhere in the country. The only VOIP company I've found so far with London numbers available is Vonage, and they charge £7.99 a month, I'm just looking to receive calls. I don't mind paying something, but not ~£100 a year for a features I don't want/need.
Thanks for any suggestions, I've googled quite exhaustively, albeit my next port of call should be a VOIP forum...

London is 020.
The correct format is 020 7nnn nnnn, 020 8nnn nnnn and 020 3nnn nnnn
7 and 8 are part of the local number, not the dialling code.
Sipgate do offer 020 numbers, I have a couple and when I checked a couple of days ago they still offered them. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

And I know how to format London numbers :P my Dad was at some "launch party" BT did when they switched to 020 (weird eh, having a party over it lol) and he pointed out all their leaflets explaining about the new numbers were wrong - they were telling businesses to print the numbers as 0208 333 2202 or whatever, instead of 020 8439 2323, and ever since he's been convinced it was him who spotted that mistake first lol.
Anyway, thanks again.

You can get a Geographic number (including 020) with Skype UK subscription plan at £2.24 per month which includes unlimited calls to UK landlines. there's an offer at the moment til June 1st you get 33% off when you sign up for 3 months or more.0

That's more money than they can spend. They only want it to receive calls.
Why pay £2.24 per month, when £0.00 per month is better. With a local number of any area of your choice and Voicemail.
So for what the OP wants Sipgate is ideal and costs nothing per month.
Skype is proprietary, so you have to use their hardware and can't use standard hardware or software of your choice and plus Skype along with Tesco always were the two dearest providers.
So once with Skype you are stuck with Skype, at least with an open standard like SIP, you can use the same hardware on the numerous VoIP providers. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
