It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
and it'll only take about another 100 years for mankind to really **** it up!!!!

My first thought was that this was a scam letter, but I'm not 100% convinced. The user id that you are supposedly associated with does exist but is NARU.
When an account is NARUd for certain reasons, like fraud or persistent offending then it is true that any accounts associated with it are lost as well. Accounts can be 'associated' even if that is just a family association. Somewhere either on this group or on the ebay newsgroups there was a case where a woman had lost her account as her son, who lived at an entirely different address was NARUd but credit cards used to open both accounts were both registered to the home address.
All I can suggest is you try and phone ebay, I think emailing them will be a waste of time. I don't know how easy it is to get a telephone number, maybe some one else can help?
BTW, the one thing you mustn't do is try to open another e bay account while suspended, that leads to an automatic disqualification for ever.
Good luck and let us all know how you get on.

Thanks for your comments 'soolin'.
Just to confirm what others may be thinking:
I DO NOT use my eBay username & password on any other website.
I have checked my PayPal account, and all is OK ... even changed my password details just to make sure!!!
I DO NOT respond to emails claiming to be from eBay asking questions about my username/password or email address.
I phoned a collegue to check beatless-monkey and he confirmed that the eBay account in that name has been suspended, and that the user was dealing in records, which I've never even looked at on eBay.
I have sent an email, but as you say, I don't expect a quick responce .... so if anyone does know a phone number I'd be grateful. It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........

Hi,
I had a similar email not long after I started using Ebay.
I was pretty panicked as I had no idea what I had done (assuming I had got something wrong). However when I clicked on the link in the email it opened a page asking for my personal information (username/password/bank account etc).
I read about scams on the ebay site and forwarded it to their safeharbour address. They confirmed that it was a scam (took a couple of days) which was a relief.
I don't know if yours is the same, but I could still use my account OK despite the email.

It was when I went to log-in on eBay that I found out that I'd been suspended, so I knew then that the email wasn't a scam.It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........

So much for eBay "dealing with query's within 72 hrs" .... I've finally got my eBay Account back working today (25th November)
.... only 20 days for eBay to deal with my query as to why I was suspended.
Had to send them faxed copies of a Utility Bill and a copy of my Drivers License before they would re-instate me!!
