Self Storage in the north east

Hi - not sure if this is the right forum but I was wondering if anyone knew of a cheap self-storage place in the newcastle-gateshead- sunderland area. At the moment I'm looking at uholdthekey which charge £17ish for 80 square feet of container type storage but I'm wondering if there are any other options - thanks.

If we manage to sell our house we will need self storage in that area too so I will watch your thread!

FYI uholdthekey had been recommended to us too and seemed quite reasonable when we got rough quotes but we haven't looked too far into it yet as we have only been on the market 5 weeks.

I can remember the name off the top of my head but their is a big self storage place on the felling bypass on the way into gateshead, not far from gateshead stadium

Thanks Chris - I actually pass them every day so they'd be perfect except they charge £14.50 for 25 sq ft which makes them about the same price as safestore who would charge £24 a week for 100 sq feet for two months rising to £48 after that.

I've found if they don't quote a price on their website but ask you to ring, it's not going to be cheap and you're in for a sales pitch that personally speaking puts me right off that company.

Eon I know uholdthekey as my brother used them and I don't think there were any negatives except that you're not getting storage within a building but within a sea container parked on a stretch of land so maybe the security isn't up there with some of the more expensive companies - having said that I found the lock to be incredibly sturdy so I would be happy to put housey stuff in there without worry.

Just wondering how you got on with researching your self-storage?
We have accepted an offer on our house, it is a very short, well progressed chain so (fingers crossed) we might need storage soon.
