Should we be entitled to compensation for a 4hr delay caused by Greek Strike?

We were stuck in Greece most of the day last week due to industrial action. The airline said we would be delayed 4hrs, but that they didnt have to offer a drink as it was industrial action 0 is this true.

the airport concerned didnt have any EU Agreement pinned up which states passenger rights

No you were not entitled to compensation. The industrial action rules that out.

You were entitled to 'care' - ie meals and refreshments in a reasonable relation to the waiting time

Quite what your rights are for not getting it I don't know.
