2 bank accounts with the same name

i was in a business partnership, we decided to end the business, but tax affairs and the bank account where still active.It appears the bank has allowed my former partner to open an account with the same business name that we where still using. Is this legal

Yes; as long as they don't mix the two accounts up.
Is your old partnership account still open?
Any differences of opinion as to who owns the business name is between you and your ex partner - nothing at all to do with the bank.0 -
Both accounts where operating at the smae time. If it is legal it is very poor banking practise. My partner mixed the accounts up and the bank transfered money from the joint account to his without my authority or knowledge. Both signatures where rquired0

Then that is a banking complaint which you should take up with your business manager.
What you asked was whether it was legal - it still is.0
