How Much Spending Money for a Fortnight in Bulgaria?

Hi

This might seem like a silly question but I'd really like to know how much money to take with me on a trip to Bulgaria next week given that I'm not exactly rolling in money at the moment and don't want to get into anymore debt. I'm going with husband and 3 kids for a fortnight and the holidays been booked for over a year so far too late to cancel. Its half board as well so we can eat in the hotel but I'd like to get an idea of the price of things over there before I set off so I can try and get an idea about how much money to take with me!!!!.

If anyone could advise I"d be really grateful

I went last year and it was really cheap...about 30p for a big glass of beer. We didn't do any excursions so I can't tell you the cost of them but I can get you a list tomorrow if you want.

my mum owns property out there so we go most years, i would say you need about for 2 weeks with 2 adults and 3 kids about £1000 it was/is cheap although the prices are going up all the time.

Went last year to Varna and Veliko Tarnovo (so not to the main package tourist areas I should mention). I thought things were generally very cheap; two course meal with drinks was about £5, a beer was 50p, taxis were incredibly cheap, as were cigarettes. I know that the exchange rate now is a bit worse than when I went though, and I was speaking to some locals who did say that prices in the main tourist resorts of Sunny Beach and Golden Sands were a fair bit higher.
