Don't really understand what you mean Deals. Are congratulations to you in order?
Are you okay? I do fuss about you.
(It's okay to think of me as a daft old biddy - you can even imagine me in curlers )Always another chapter0 -

Won't be able to get on much for the next few days, neat freak dad coming to stay in very messy house :eek::eek::eek::D
But do pm me if you just need to 'talk'. I do worry. (cue image of me in curlers )
FWIW I think men on the second time around having kids with a second partner are more likely to spend time with kids and be 'hands on' but it depends so much on the circumstances.
Keep posting - there are lovely people on this site (okay there are a few trolls but there are lots of really lovely people) and if you bob into the chat threads on Debt Free Wannabe or Old Style you will be made really welcome. You are not alone.
Take care of yourself, the bits I have read of yours (not all of your posts by any means) tell me you are a lovely person who is very intelligent.
HugsAlways another chapter0 -
Mine has - def not a 'hands on' dad but that's just him really. Are you OK? As hev said - is it congrats or are you just mulling it over?

They might find it harder to bond if they have already had to cope with being seperated from their first child.Barclaycard 3800

Some will some won't I don't think you can generalise on a topic like this.
I would be very sure that a child is really what he wants before making that committment. My DH has been a wonderful SD to my two although we don't have any that are "ours" biologically he is their Dad in every other way0 -
My DH has a DD that he had before we met and we have had 2 DS' of our own DH is very hands on with the boys and they both adore him however when DD comes to stay the problems start DH feels very guilty that the boys have him full time and DD does not and consequently he lets her get away with all sorts of misbehaviour and although it isnt happening now I think eventually this will have an impact on the relationship between the kids because our two are still quite young they havent quite realised what is happening.
DH and I have talked at length about it and he is improving (he says he doesnt want to tell her off because she may not want to come back and see him again) his daughter is a lovely kid and I love her very much but the situation is hard at times and I have to confess that on occasion I have thought to myself "why didn't I marry someone with no ties".
Now all that said and I am totally contradicting myself here I love my life I love my husband and all our children we have been together 8yrs and I knew when I got into the relationship what I was getting and accepted things as they were.:j:love: Getting married to the man of my dreams 5th November 2011

My dad acted like a first time dad with my brothers from his second wife, which I found pretty hard to deal with at the time, even at the age of 17/18, so that's maybe something to keep in mind. My stepmum made some stupid comments as well like 'how do you know how to change a nappy?' with me standing there. I think that's more dependent on the individual though, my dad can be pretty oblivious to other people's feelings. It all worked out ok though and I love my brothers to bits.Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!
