Manchester hotels have tripled thier prices next weekend.HELP!!

Going to Manchester on 23rd May for 3 nights to watch the Ricky Hatton fight on the 24th. Struggling to get a hotel deal, the Friday and Sunday are reasonable prices but the Saturday has tripled in price!! Is this allowed? Or does anyone have any suggestions on a 3 night stay for around the £200 mark maximum. Manchester or surrounding, same hotel for all 3 nights though please.
An example would be the Brittania stockport, £42 fri and sun night, £250 sat night. Im furious they are allowed to get away with it to be honest.

If the Premier Travel Inn's are full they tend to keep a waiting list when big events are on? x

search "Warrington" and your dates. After that you have to click on "WARRINGTON" (Woolston Grange) the heading, so that you can input code "ZOO" in the Group Code box!

Will then show price etc as special rate "TRAVELZOO" (from Travelzoo email available to all)

Fri 23 May for 3 nights is £30 B&B for 2 (NOT each) per night

It's a seller's market they will make hay while the sun shines you can't really blame them to be honest. It's not against the law to make a profit.

Village Hotel in Bury. Those 3 nights can be done at £285, or £315 with breakfast. Tram ride into Bury, where a quick taxi will whisk you off for about two or three quid. If you bring a car, it's transport links can't be faulted.

I've never stayed (I live about 2 miles away), or been in for that matter. But I've heard that it's alright.

I'm leaving Manchester that weekend, for 4 nights. I'm hoping to catch the fight while I'm in Dublin.

A little tip for you. Not a lot of people know this, but Ricky drinks in The Press Club in central Manchester. If you work in the media, or the NHS, bring your id. It's hard to find (just a sign on the wall, in a backstreet), and it's like Pheonix Nights inside. However it's full of celebs just hanging out. After midnight, they even do kareoke (I can't spell it!) and thanks to the "No photo or autograph" policy, many people you wouldn't expect get up for a go. A week after coming back from Vegas, Ricky was up singing "My Way". It was quite apprpriate as well "I took the blows". Don't expect a posh bar, it's anything but!
