one thing I forogot to say - is that - I don't actually mind them cutting me off - that part is fine, the part I object to is when they keep my credit balance on closure.

Before we know it, all banks will be doing this also.....

I agree with you - contact them, it is UNUSED credit so you, I would imagine, you are entitled to it back

I agree with you there - just because everyone does something doesn't mean to say that it is the right thing to do.

You should definitely contact them and see what they say. I have an Alpha account and am so glad you mentioned the 6-month thing I'll be sure to call up somewhere in the next few months...
