For one month her only option is likely to be a holiday let.

Ask her if she would be happy with one room, about 40 minutes drive fro Stansted.

Thanks for the replies so far.It would be for my sister and her 5 year old son so one room would not be enough but thank you for the reply.Regarding the holiday let does anyone know or have a property that would be available at such short notice?I have checked a few sites but they are really expensive.

Anything will be expensive due to the short-term nature of the requirement.
    And the time of year.

In most places, at any time, short-term rental is expensive.
But you haven't defined "expensive". That means something totally different to everybody.

Why Stansted? Because of getting the boy to/from school? That info would help people with suggestions maybe. The more they can picture the situation, the more likely people are to make suggestions and provide links.

PN is right, but if you do a holiday let bear in mind that you generally pay nothing extra for utilities (gas, electric, oil etc) and nothing extra for Council Tax.

I rented a holiday let for 6 weeks last year at a cost of £1,300 a month. All I had to find was my food and "personal spending", in addition to this. £325 a week "all in" was actually not a bad deal.

Having said that .... bear in mind that holiday let in June generally commands a small premium compared with say January. Nevertheless ... don't rule it out, but do the sums carefully.

I would have imagined it was due to the airport but I could be wrong! If I am right and she is (for example) going on a cabin crew training course or something of the sort can she contact the airline and ask them for a list of local short term lets?

Otherwise advertise on gumtree or the like, someone may have something suitable, you never know.

Her son goes to school in Bishops Stortford. The house she is moving into, the end of June, is in Stansted so thats why she wants something around this area.

Is she selling her home or moving out of rented? Does she have anywhere else she can stay for a month ie with friends/family? Put an advert up in the school?
