holiday and seeing how the weather how the weather is at present not sure if that would be the best plan. yes would definitely need things to keep my 3 year old toddler busy!!! thanks for info.kandyfloss wrote: »Hi Deals we have used this site many times when camping on the Isle Of Wight.www.southlands.co.uk and found it very useful for getting about on the Island as it is close to Newport where there are plenty of shops.
Not sure whether you have been before but we go mainly to that site as it is peaceful for just the two of us.It depends whether you want a site with swimming pools and lots of things going on on site for children.A lot of people use the sites for the accomodation and then take the children to the beaches and places of interest for the kids. There is loads to do but don't know how many children there are or what your budget is.
If you Google Isle Of Wight tourism there should be information on there and they will also send you booklets and leaflets on all aspects of the island.
We always go around July time when we go and we have lovely weather. We often come back home with such a nice tan that our family and friends think we have been abroad.....0 -
We stayed the last May bank holiday week at Languards near Shanklin. It is a very samll caravan and chalet park. It has a small indoor and outdoor swimming pool (open until about 6pm I seem to remember) and they have a tiny shop and take away/diner. A small area with slides etc. There is not much daytime/evening entertainment as they have one small club room. There is a large Morrisons at the end of the road to get any supplies and it also has a cafe area for breakfast, lunches and early evening meal. We did not spend much time in the site-just used it as a base for exploring the island (used the swimming pool first thing in the morning or about 5pm). The accomodation and site was very clean and near everything. Shanklin Chine and beach is only 5 mins away by car (20 min walk). We booked direct, but I see it has been taken over by Park resorts now. www.parkresorts.co.uk. They have 3 day break for £236 from 23/5 currently advertised. We travelled over via redfunnell. They were great, as we arrived a bit early both ways and if they have spaces they just put you on the earlier boat. It was very cold and wet when we went that time last year (January temp they said on the news), but we still had a great time. We got a map before going. By the way if you are going to Blackgang Chine go the first day as last year we got 2 days for the price of one-so went for one full day and a few hours th evening of the next day.0

in advance. looking at options on accommodation at present for 2 adults and a toddler possibly or 3 adults/toddler and 1 teenager. also prefer to have some options for entertainment so that they dont all get bored!!! but if i remember the pubs are quite nice. maybe worth taking bikes too?We stayed the last May bank holiday week at Languards near Shanklin. It is a type of theme park ,with an interesting history attached to it, that is build on the edge of a chine. Just checked and it has a free return visit within 7 seven days. On the first day we went it was really bad with wind and rain, but we still had a good time!!! We bought some plastic ponchos (think they were about £1ish each) in the entrance area. There is a club house with night time entertainment at Languards, with a kids disco and then a singer usually, it is just not along the lines of the bigger holiday camps, with lots of entertianment choices.0
