woodworm

I know that if it is active there is sawdust.

But I bought a chest of drawers from ebay. It arrived last night. In getting ready to move it tonight was when we noticed.

I was not happy to move it. We checked the table and chairs over that arrived at the same time.

And they seemed to be ok. What should I do as I don't want to infect my house. Do I just chuck, treat it or hope that it is ok.

What does not help is that I am due to go away for a week on saturday.

  • Hi,

    [url=http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/woodworm.htm
    ]woodworm[/url] is very easy to treat and should just ned a coat of suitable clear woodworm killer/preservative, that is widely available!
  • Take it easy calleyw.....woodworms from a chest of draws are NOT going to take over the whole house and eat their way through (these are not termites)
    Woodworms chew their way through tender wood. If the chest of draw is old and the wood dry, you might just see dust coming out of the holes because the dust was there in the first place. The chance is they might have found a better home ages ago. Wax the nex item and enjoy it in your house.
  • If it will fit in your chest freezer leave it there for a couple of days. Woodworm don't like getting frozen.

    Make sure its wrapped well against water forming when the frost melts
