Insurance Worries

Hello people, my first post here. Ive been viewing the site since the start of the year and found some pretty useful information available in the forum sections as well, so thought id sign up.

I’m looking for some advice from the people here, ive got myself rather worried about travel insurance. I’m travelling to Cyprus in August and im going to be participating in driving a quad bike and drinking alcohol on nights, I’m aware that most normal insurance policies don’t cover using quad bikes, nor do they cover injuries which occur under the influence.

I’m 26 and very responsible, i won’t be doing anything stupid or abnormal on the holiday, just having a good time in the sun with my partner.

What advice can you give me? What kind of insurance do i need to be looking for and where is the best place to get it?

Many thanks for your time.

    This is going to sound like a bit of a cop-out, but I honestly think it may be the best place to start;

    Firstly - Go to the post office.

    The post office offer travel cover. I'm not sure how good it is, but it's the simplest place to start. Ask them for a copy of the policy wording (or check to see if one is available on the internet). The point of this is it will tell you what a basic, standard, travel policy will cover.

    Second thing to do; type "Quad bike travel insurance" into Google. I got the following:

    Again, see if you can get a copy of the policy wording and see what that says. The above company seem to use Axa so there shouldn't be too much trouble in getting a copy.

    Finally, remember that you should not drink and drive!!! Enjoy your holiday.

    simple answer is do not drink the night before you go quad biking? Or be sensible and ensure you have a good 12-14hrs between your last drink and doing any activity like driving or quad biking.

    You need to make sure that the policy covers you for that activity too. I am not sure if there will be requirements of the company that you use to ensure your insurance is valid?
