Health and Safety at Work basically says you can lift a maximum of 25kg on your own without assistance. 25kg is roughly a large sack of potatoes. I take it you're referring to the large plastic trays with the metal folding handles on each end? Yeah..two or three of those would be under 25kg with normal bakery type products on
.At the end of the day though, you don't want to be stuffing your back up lifting more than you can manage. Been there and am paying the price til the day I die. Your employers should show you how to lift correctly as part of your induction if you do lifting in your job and it's important that you do it properly.
You need to eat 3 weetabix for breakfast.

Absolutely agree with the second paragraph. However, with the first paragraph I feel it's not JUST about the weight. You might safely be able to lift and move 3 large plastic trays and move them up and down a few steps, and the weight might not be excessive. However I might struggle to lift them because they are awkward, at the extreme of my reach for example, AND I certainly would struggle to move anything like this up or down steps. Because if I can't see my feet, I feel extremely unsafe.Health and Safety at Work basically says you can lift a maximum of 25kg on your own without assistance. 25kg is roughly a large sack of potatoes. I thought it was Shredded Wheat? And anyway, if I ate 3 of either of those for breakfast, I'd be in the loo all morning! :rotfl:You need to eat 3 weetabix for breakfast.

No they are not plastic.
They are metal, they are made out of the same as a trolley is. Its the bottom of a trolly where the wheels are. Just wider and longer.0 -

I can answer them all honestly. And i am looking for another job i will be down town monday bright and early.:o
Hi, stokechick
Bismark asked if you could answer the questions well and truthfully (my emphasis.) By that I think was meant not only could you be honest and lucid in answering but also provide answers that portrayed your workplace abilities satisfactorily too.
Obviously it was your decision on whether to work this weekend but it seems you definitely decided to not give it another chance. You have not even given it as long as college, which you dropped out of after 3 weeks. What other work have you done which shows longer commitment to making a go of things?
Good luck with the job search - so that you can contribute to your keep and demonstrate to your parents that you won't be skint all your life.

Hi StokeChick
Just want to say I'm 26, I left school at 16 with 2 C grade GCSE's, went to work in admin in 'potteries' took myself off to evening college 4 nights a week. I waas on £60 per week then and had to pay my mum £20 a week 'rent'. I stuck at it until the death of the pottery industry, moved onto a couple of more admin roles, Inland Revenue, etc then after a long stint in managment (5yrs) I bagged myself a good career with the Probation Service. Don't get me wrong, I've always studied in the evenings, and this year (after 6 years of studying) will have completed my degree with the Open University whilst working full-time. It isn't easy, and I've had some S**T jobs inbetween - BUT the experience of the world of work certainly put me in a better position than some of my school friends who took the 6th form and uni route (I'm not saying that this is wrong - just personal experience).
I know you may not think it worth it, but stick at it if you can. Even if you are looking for another job - it is easier to find one when you already are in one and it will also be a reference for you for future work.0 -
Oops - think I've replied twice!0

What does you pay slip actually say?
And what tax code is on your pay slip?
It is possible you are on week one tax as you don't have a tax code.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles
