Butlins Southport? has anyone been?

After successfully winning one of the Mon-Fri freebie holidays posted a couple of days ago I was just wondering if anyone had been there? i have been reviewing it online and Im very scared now. Now I dont mean to sound snobbish as I am very grateful for the break but so many of the reviews say its filthy, boring, noisy, nothing to do for the kids etc? I realise you get what u pay for and we aren't paying, all i want is for it to be clean! They will make their money back from us anyway in the arcades no doubt! Also what else is there to do in and around area (any moneysaving tips too?). Lastly after southport we are heading back north on our way home so any other ideas on places to go/visit/stay for 3 days? we are thinking maybe haven for 3 days if we leave it til last minute we may manage to sneak a cheap-ish 3 day in one of the many havens on the way back up..thanks in advance xmyx :j

I did wonder! I used to work at Butlins, and was sure they only had three sites left now!
