Thank you Martin

Hello :D

After being a lurker for a while and reading lots of threads with useful information, I decided to tackle one of my many worries, The Tax Credit System.
To cut a long story short in 2003//04 we were overpaid by several thousand pounds which was no fault of our own. At the time I made lots of phone calls, wrote letters and nothing seemed to happen. We were doomed to having the money reclaimed a bit per year  Not only that but we had problems with the CSA so the Tax thing got left.

Then I started reading on here and one thing lead to another and I had second wind. I went for it big time and got my MP involved etc. After many sleepless nights I had a letter from the MP today saying they were NOT going to reclaim the overpayment (£7,500!) So here I am saying a very big thank you to Martin :money::kisses: and all you guys for encouraging folk like me to stand up and not give in. So anyone else out there if you can find a bit of strength don't give up, give it one more crack and see what happens.

Its the CSA next..................watch this space!

yes its good to hear the sucess stories
It does give engouragement, especially regarding overpayments in the year you had yours as we 2 had a large overpayment that year and we got ours overturned 18 months ago after involving our mp. We also got a large sum of money back that they had already collected back that they shouldn't have, hope you get some 2.

Trust me I didn't want the overpayment or ask for it. All I wanted was a peaceful, normal life. You have no idea how much unrest and problems this has caused. I would have gladly swapped with someone who hasn't been through this but its over now.

It sounds good in theory but when you have it happen in real life its a nightmare and needless to say I would not even think about applying again, I wouldn't want to risk it happening again.

(They messed up so much that even after we paid some back every year for 4 years the amount they are not reclaiming is far more than we got any way! How do you explain that one? )
