Question on New tesco club card

Hi
I have got New tesco club card and the number of the card is different from my old one. The clubcard number on tesco website is same as the number on my old clubcard.

I am going to buy some stuff and they asked me to fill the tesco clubcard number to get some points. What number should I fill in. New one or old one???

    I'd do the new one
although I'm sure in Mr T's big computer both will be listed to your account.
I work for TUI Group of Companies. My companies ATOL/ABTA numbers are 2524 / D5299. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it but Atol numbers can be checked on the Civil Aviation Authority website. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.
  • I'm still using the old card, does that mean that it will be cancelled soon and it'll stop collecting points? Was a bit reluctant to start using the new one in case it didn't collect with my other points!

I guess we just got out vouchers so can't lose out on much now.

Phoned up and found out all my points from the old card were automatically put onto the new card.

I assume it's the same for everyone :)

I have a bit of a problem with this too, somehow I have two Clubcard accounts, and get two statements each time around. When I buy online from Tesco Direct the points go onto one account (which I've never received a card for before now), and when instore I use my card I've always used. This is the one I use most often and have a number of points on it.

I've received two new cards last week but can't tell which one is linked to which account. I want to keep using my account I've been using instore. Is there a way to match the card number up against the new statements coming in shortly, or are these still linked to the old cards.

I'm happy enough having two accounts, although I don't understand how it came to be so. The good bit being when the statements come with vouchers for extra points they are usually included in both for different items.

If you update your card details online, then it will show you the points balance for the new number - either that or make a small purchase instore and see what the points balance on the receipt is.

Ah now that wont work, cos the points have been turned into vouchers this week, and no longer show. You will just have to have faith of phone customer services.;)

Ah - true - so just checked one of my old mailings, and they printed the clubcard number on the first page last time, so maybe all is not lost :)

    Thanks for the tips :)

Just had a visit to Tesco today still using my old card as I hadn't worked out which one was which. I had a till spit for 30 extra points on fruit juice, the assistant scanned it with the clubcard at the start of the shopping and no extra points were added. Went over to CS who added the 30 points without any problem. Just worth checking your receipt before leaving.

That would be because the coupons only work at the end of the shopping once the fruit juice has been scanned through. Assistant obviously didnt know what they were doing or made a mistake. It would have said error on the screen though so i dont know how they didnt notice.

I had a few vouchers I was saving, and they have my old clubcard number printed on them. The new vouchers I just got have the new clubcard number Tesco assigned to me. Will the vouchers work together? I know Tesco had stopped letting people use vouchers from others' accounts, and I'm hoping it will show in their system that this is actually the same account?
