Quick car insurance query

I'm 26, and have had a provisional licence for just over 3 years. I am going to buy a car this week. I am on my mothers insurance for her car.

On the insurance policy for my new car, I'll have my mother on the policy. My question is this: When getting quotes online, do I need to put the proposer as the person who will be the registered keeper (me), or should I put it as my mother to reduce costs?

Thanks.

If you are the main drive you should be the proposer with your mother a named driver. Otherwise you are comitting fraud

I won't be the main driver- it will be 60/40 on my mums side.

Does the proposer have to be the registered keeper?

It's impossible to give a definitive answer to this question, as different insurers have different criteria.

Just answer all questions honestly and check any FAQs or 'assumptions' on each site.
