Why would you need help with childcare costs if your child can be at home with a parent?0

You work 26-35 hours between you and you want the goverment to pay for the child to go to nursery full time?
It is my understanding that child care help is so that people can go to work..."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -

I think it depends on the number of hours worked, and the amount of childcare costs overall, rather than when the hours are worked.
When I worked part time (as a single parent), my weekly childcare costs were taken into account, regardless of what days I worked (if that makes sense).
I worked 3 days but had to pay for 5 in order to keep my daughters place at the childminders, even if she didn't go for the 2 days I wasn't working.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

That is a little harsh, most childcare places (unless you can give them set days, e.g. Mon , Wed, Fri), will not keep your place open unless you pay for it. Initially I only worked 3 days per week, but they were not set days, so had to pay for 5 days care in order for them to keep her place open, resulting in higher childcare costs, even though I didn't need them.
I now work full time so it is not an issue. I pay for 5 days, they now go 5 days, but if I am off work and they don't go, i still pay full to keep their places open.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
