Worcester 28Si II Boiler problem

As per title, my combi boiler packed up last night!
Now although a flannel wash doesn't bother me too much, the missus is deperate to wash her hair! So, can anyone offer any help?
The boiler has an ignition warning light on it if it fails to ignite. It flashes one per second and then locks out if it tries to ignite 5 times and fails. It will flash rapidly (5 times per second) if its more serious. I suppose, luckily, its only flashing slowly, so I know its tried to ignite and failed.
I've checked the obvious, made sure the water pressure is set correct (roughly 1.5bar), I've checked the gas mains, which looks ok (and my gas hob works fine), power is obviously there.
When I try to make the boiler ignite, usually you hear the piezo electric ignitor click a few times and then you hear the boiler ignite (whoosh!
). Now when I turn the hot taps on, you can hear some flow switch make which is obviously detecting water flow, but no ignition sparks and no ignition whoosh!
I assume its something to do with the ignitor, gas valve or control board, but don't know what to check. I don't think its the water flow switch for the hot water as the boiler won't fire up on the central heating either.
I'm a qualified electrician, so would like to try and find the problem part for myself, however I don't really know where to start with this. If any boiler experts can point me in the right direction of things I need to check and what to look for I'd very much appreciate it.
Cheers in advance.

Hi Steve,
Did you get this sorted? I seem to be having to same problem and Worcester want to charge me £200 to visit!

I had a similar problem with the same boiler at my old house - it was the pcb board
id recommend taking out a service contract with worcester and telling them that the boiler broke down on the day of the service visit. You'll have to wait 4 weeks though
a new pcb is about £300 for the worcester 28si II
Hope that helps£2 Savers Club #156!
Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j0 -

No need to pay those prices see here. £15 back if you return a faulty board. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Good price, but I do not believe their statement of 'manufacturer refurbished'.
More like a local electronics shop has done it. Worcester only deal in new boards.0 -
