Just booked up for a week in a villa in the la torre golf resort in Costa Calida. Was wondering if anyone has been here and can let me know what its like, where to eat, activities etc. We are non golfers but the resort looked nice and the villa looks ideal so we thought we would give it a try. Have hire car so is there anything within driving distance that is worth checking out?
TIA

I own a property on La Torre, There are 5-6 eateries on site, 1 irish Bar, the food is quite expensive but reccomend Limonero which overlooks the lake and for 30 euros each there is a very nice 3 course meal with unlimited beer and coffee. http://www.mypolarisrental.com/lt.html Most spanish restaurants have a menu de dia (menu of the day) set at 10 euros or less at lunchtime mon - fri try it great value :T
Locally to eat there is Roldan a great pasta house and a great Indian, 15 km away on the mar menor is Los Alcazares where you will find a great choice of Eateries. Head down to Puerto Mazzaron for a day out easy to find and a great beach. Cartagena is a greatplace to wander and very historic as is Murcia City.I have found the area very safe always. There is a large Sunday market in cabo de palios near la manga strip ..but ensure you done wear jewellery and keep purses and wallets to a bare minimum as pickpockets are operating there big time ( as in most markest locally they are children from Eastern Europe and trained in the art of Pick pocketing)
PM me if you need more info as I have a Excel file I could send you with all the top tips locally  and Enjoy"Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."
