Just keep putting her on the toilet every half hour. She will go eventually. I found that once my DD started to go on the potty (I just let her go around the house with nothing on her bottom so she could sit by herself) I then progressed to putting pants on..she wet herself for about 3 days then realised she had to ask to go. That was when she was 20 months old and finally I have just got her out of wearing a nappy at night at 2 1/2

She will get the hang of it eventually I mean you dont see many 5 year olds wearing nappies. Lots of rewards too!
    Good luck

    I would Sar.
She needs to see what it feels like when she wee's and get the feeling-she never will in nappies. And don't waste your money on those 'feel and learn' ones, they are, quite literally, pants. LOL!

After a brief chat with Ste I've just paid £400 off the egg card. :) that leaves us with £69 for 'just in cases' til he gets paid on tuesday. :T
    New balance £166.29 :) wooo!

Also... is it ok to put a nappy on her when we're going out? On the way to nursery etc? Last time we left her in pants in the car she wee'd as soon as the car got moving! lol

Good luck with the potty training, it reminded me of this:

At age 4 success is not peeing in your pants.
At age 12 success is having friends.
At age 16 success is having a drivers license.
At age 20 success is having sex.
At age 35 success is having money.
At age 50 success is having money.
At age 60 success is having sex.
At age 70 success is having a drivers license.
At age 75 success is having friends.
At age 80 success is not peeing in your pants

  • All my four took a while IA, I used all of the above, bribery, blackmail, starcharts - etc, etc! I found the best way was just to chill and go with it, we chose a quiet time - a couple of weeks when we weren't dashing in and out. Read the Tony Ross Little Princess book "I want my potty" which lasted over the years - my eldest is nearly 21 and youngest 6! Definately recommend that and read it with lots of laughing and shouting. I kept nappies off in the house and put nappies on if we were going out - take them off again as soon as you get back.

PS: Welcome back Bunny - missed you! Glad things good in the new house!

    PPS: Toto been around today?

Thats brilliant, £166.29 is a managable amount and you should be able to pay it off quite quickly.

Def put nappy on while out and about for the first couple of days. You can get waterproof pad things that go in the car seat. I also read that giving LO a special towel/blanket to put in the car seat discourages them from weeing as they don't want to ruin it as its special (how true this im not sure!)

  • Morning all, all this talk about potty training reminds me of DD1& DS1'S potty training days. DD1 used to love sitting on her pink bear potty, and would sing nursery rhymes, The wheels on the bus being the favourite, she would sit there all day, and used to have a red ring around her bottom. DS1 never bothered, he discovered the magical world of drains and trees, at the drop of a hat off would come his pants and he would wee anywhere outside. saw a friend of his do it and that was it!! Very quick he was too!
DD2 had no probs either, I think it was because we used terry nappies, great for sorting them out, we only used disposables if we had to travel anywhere.

    Morning!

Sam, that was too funny - really made me giggle!

IA - in the Boots leaflet that I got through the door the other day, one of the Mums was suggested using a bit of food colouring because it changes colour when the wee hits it - presume she meant adding a few drops to the water in the loo, but I'm not sure.

Bunneeeeey, lovely to have you back :j :j
