Options
Hi

I have started using Morningstar's website to look at funds.

Does anyone know why Sarasin's Agrisar OEIC is not on there?

Thanks

Sarasin's Agrisar OEIC is not on there

Investment Managers have to 'subscribe' (Pay) to have Morningstar cover their Funds

Also it is a new(ish) Fund

Either or both of the above are probably the reaons

Its on financial express analytics and its a FSA authorised fund so no reason there. Its probably as its a new launch and Morningstar havent got round to it yet.

Morningstar can be very slow to set up new funds ... and sometimes very slow to update prices on the funds they do show.
I have asked them, in the past, to set up funds that do not show and they have responded positively.

'don't invest in this Fund at the moment cos most soft commodity's are over valued due to ludicrous speculative demand.....you'll be able to buy into it at lower levels'

....I'm not sure if that is the FundSheet you were looking for though

You can get useful info by Google searching on Sarasin Agrisar. Also see

Purchy babe you are displaying your ignorance. Sarasin Agrisar only has up to 15% directly invested in agricultural commodities, the rest is in a diverse mix of agriculture infrastructure such as seeds, fertiliser, irrigation, tractors, land, machinery etc.

The only answer to rising agricultural commodity prices is to boost productivity with a huge amount of investment in agricultural infrastructure from a very low base.

Eclectica Agriculture is a similar but not quite so diverse and has a higher amount of agricultural commodities. Incidentally they are bringing out a new fund Eclectica Futures Agriculture fund in June for a pure agricultural commodities play.

Of course they will fall again but can you predict when?

Everything goes up and down in a natural cycle the point is do you believe that commodities are in a long term bull market or not in which case they can still correct 20% 30% 50% and still be in a long term bull trend
    .
No doubt when commodities correct there will be plenty people here shouting told you so!

Easy to do when they are rear view mirror driving.

Yes is the answer to that.

Unfortunately, and quite worryingly some times, more and more people are buying into the Commodity Supercycle theme without the slightest notion of how the Commodity market functions, and for many of them it will all end in tears.

I first stood on the floor of the IPE back in 1981 whilst in the process of being offered a trading position with Sucden, and whilst I didn't take up the offer I've traded in different commodity's ever since then, and I've had a trading account with Sucden for many years.........yet anytime I try and add a note of balance to the argument, I get shouted down by the almost religious zealots who have read a few articles and blogs on the subject and think they know everything.

    Hilarious :rotfl:
