My oh has just been offered an interview tomorrow for his dream job..
Not only will it give us a much needed higher and more stable income, but he will be doing something he truly enjoys.
He is very nervous..which isn't good..any advice?

Remember to turn his mobile phone off before the interview, which another poster on this board forgot to do & sadly didn't get the much needed job.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

I always write down a list of questions that I might get asked and then write down a list of answers - then have a quick look before i go into the interview - think of some really nasty ones like - what is your greatest weakness? or what do you think you will find difficult at this job?
- there is really excellent book I would recommend (although you are a bit short of time obviously) called 'great answers to the toughest interview questions' err.. or a variation on that. its really really excellent and has definately got me through some nasty interviews.
Also, research the company and look at the kind of language and words they use to describe themselves, also go through the job description and pick out key words that they use - then drop those words into your interview when your talking about yourself.
goodluck!!I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!
Money to raise for tuition fees: £3000
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!!0 -
His current supervisor has just worried him too by saying he doesn't look remotely smart enough to be interviewed at such an impressive place..argh..
He has been wearing primark shirts and ties and super cheap shoes for his current job, as we couldnt afford any better and would rather spend the money on the soon to arrive baby.
Booked him into the barbers on his way home from work, and we may have to make a trip to tk maxx for a suit and new shoes (which we can't afford..but will be worth it)Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
Have a look in asda, they do nice shirts and ties and also some shoes
And they are open 24hours so you will have plenty of time to walk around and not feel rushed.
I hope it goes well!!!:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knickers:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:0 -
Thanks for that..i will do!
I was considering taking a walk into town to check out the charity shops too..at least for a shirt and tie..we have really good ones near us..(and it's stopped raining finally!hehehe)Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
starlite,
Have a look at www.alec.co.uk There are sections on Interview questions and advice on what to say and not to say in interview situations. My husband used that website a lot when he was job hunting.
Good luck!

Thanks i'll save those links for him in the super organzed folder i have created..
as you can guess this is mega important for both of us!
He also has an assesment on grammar, word comprehension and letter drafting so I have sourced a few good links for him..lots of homework tonight!hehe..and he'd best do it all before he can go out to play...teehehehehe!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
Homework. Get to know as much about the company as possible. Consider what questions you might ask if you were interviewing someone for the position.
Prepare a couple of questions to ask, as well as your answers. (e.g. Where do you see the successful applicant in 5 years time? If I'm not successful with this application, is there anything to prevent me reapplying should a similar vacancy arise in the future?). The second one shows you really want it, and would keep trying until successful.
All the best though, it obviously means a lot to you both. Let us know the result!

P.S. I really, really hope he gets it, so he can tell his current supervisor where to stick it! What a *******!If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

haha..his thoughts exactly..and for his company in general who have been 'training' him, but threatening such things as "take a holiday but don't expect to come back" and "paternity leave..you must be joking"
all this on a barely minimum wage salary in a stresful london shares company..so not worth it..
everything crossed for him!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0
