removing concrete godfathers?

Have ripped down all the rotten fencing/wooden posts at the front of the house, going to replace it with some hedges (y)
However, we are left with 2 concrete godfathers which i presume are embedded in concrete too - any tips on removing? cheers

either dig around them with a spade and then remove.
or smash them up with a sledge hammer. you may need a decent hacksaw to cut any steel rebar inside them.Get some gorm.0
