    Finally, if you are a Da Vinci code fan, the number 15 bus will take you out to Rosslyn Chapel which features in the book. Your £2.50 all day bus ticket will work on this bus!

    If you visit Holyrood Palace at the bottom of the Royal Mile you should take a tour of the Parliament building next door. Love it or hate it (I love it but think it's in the wrong place) it's different.

    Hey im from Edinburgh and Lucas ice cream is a definate. The dungeins are tours are ok but the zoo is brill and the museum. Have fun. xx

    Loads of great suggestions already made - but to avoid a lot of walking and to get your bearings around central Edinburgh - the first thing I would recommend is jump on one of the open top buses, let them drive you round, listen to the commentary, and then you may have a better idea of what appeals to you, and how to get there.
