liquids in hand luggage
bargainbasement
Hello, bit concerned. Travelling via Ryanair and only taking handluggage. I bought some 100ml bottles to put my sunlotion in (have to use Soltan sensitive). But reading another thread someone mentioned that because its not branded that it could be removed from my luggage? Surely this is not right as if so why are shops selling these bottles......
Advice please:mad:
Also I am right that Ryanair allow 100ml bottles cant find a link on their site - anyone who can much appreciated!!
Thanks

Not sure of the official line, but I have some clear unbranded travel bottles and have not been stopped, and have used them several times.
It is not Ryanair that make the rules on the amount of liquids allowed, but yes, it is 100ml.Gone ... or have I?0 -
No need to worry at all. I travel with Ryanair and other airlines pretty frequently, almost always with hand baggage only, and liquids in unmarked 100ml bottles- I've never had any problem.
Anyway, it's not the airline that controls the security checks, it's the airport, and 100ml is the (mostly) Worldwide rule.0 -
Am I right in thinking that you can each carry say 3 or 4 bottles of 'liquid' as long as each is 100ml or less? Or is it just one bottle of up to 100ml?0

You can carry more than one bottle, as long as each is 100ml or less, and you place them all in a clear plastic bag (which they can provide if necessary)That's Numberwang!0

Forgot to say, you have to then declare the liquids when you go through security, i.e. you have to carry your bottles in the see-through plastic bag in your hand and not in your bag, otherwise it holds everything up if it is then picked up on the x-ray machine. That's Numberwang!0

If the airport provides the bag, they are likely to charge you a couple of quid for it!
And note that there has to be some way to close the bag. Check the airport website for details.0 -
When we flew from Manchester recently (March), there were lots of bags available for free in dispensers.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
No, I've never had to pay for a bag, they've always been given out free of charge and quite freely, and I travel quite frequentlyVoyager2002 wrote: »If the airport provides the bag, they are likely to charge you a couple of quid for it!That's Numberwang!0
