How do I record DVD-RAM to DVD +/-R?

I have a Panasonic DVD RAM recorder and an LG DVD RAM drive in my PC. I want to store some of the stuff I have recorded from the TV on a DVD R - possibly after editing - not essential.
How do I do this? I have stuck the RAM disc in the PC, and the quality is shocking (although very good in the drive it was recorded in). The file format is one I do not recognise (and I can't remember as I am at work).
All I want to do is transfer from one type of disc to another.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You tend to need a reauthoring package TMPGenc seems to be recommended at videohelp.com
RAM format generally has a file format .vro, it's pretty much playing as an MPEG via the PC(you can rename it mpeg if you really wanted but still won't help to record onto DVD-R)0 -

What software are you using to play back the DVD? Hopefully not Windows Media Player. It isn't very good at playing DVDs. Try using WinDVD or PowerDVD.All I want to do is transfer from one type of disc to another.

Have you tried DVDdecrypter? Very useful for copying DVDs and it's freeware. Unfortunately, it has been issued with a 'cease and desist' order by the movie moguls but you should still be able to find the last ever version (3.5.4.0) somewhere on the net. There are also user manuals. http://www.dvdhelp.us/dvddecrypter is a handy site.

I also have a Panasonic DVD recorder using DVD RAM and copy stuff to DVD R. I found that TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 did exactly what I needed.
It will allow you to edit the files (removing adverts, etc) straight from the DVD RAM and can put a number of programs together (from different sources if necessary) and create a DVD menu.
It is not free, but there is a trial version so you see if does what you need before buying.

Thanks Altarf. I'm buying a Panasonic DVD recorder shortly and transferring DVD RAMs to DVD Rs is something I'm going to want to do.0

Works a treat, just a little pricey. $68 - I know it won't break the bank, but it is a moneysaving site
