Has anyone used the 'free' Fuller CV review? I paid £9.73 for an email review which was worthless drivel, no doubt cut 'n' pasted. The only thing unique to the 'review' was my name!!!

How come you paid £9.73 for something described as "free"?0

I am always wary of these on-line CV review websites. personally I think they are all best avoided. I too have gone down the same route as you and I too have found that the result was nothing short of a cut and pasted document, that wasn't even well written. How many people must have paid their £9.73 only to get such a shoddy service.
This won't make you feel any better, but when I was seriously looking for work and not even getting the interviews I was approached by various "Recruitment consultancies" offering "free" CV reviews. Long story short I was repeatedly told my Cv was excellent, when it was anything but.
Lesson learnt. I now just get advice from people I know and trust. And don't relay on people who are out to make a buck out of me.0 -
I tried it out to see what the result would be. More of an experiment than a realistic expectation of hearing anything useful!0

I'll review anyone's CV as I'm getting bored of mine!!
Any decent recruitment agent will give a CV the once over and provide some tips for you....For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
A good test of a CV is how many interviews it gets you, assuming you are applying for advertised jobs, rather than simply sending out 'on spec'. I was always tinkering with mine, according to whether anyone was interested or not. Eventually you find a formula that seems to work - that's not to say one CV fits all. Better to write a new CV for every company you apply to.______________________________Darth Traderusing the Force of Compoundingsince a long time ago...0

I used to work for a jobcentre funded project where we helped long term unemployed look for work. We used to look over their CV's and give tips on how they could develop them, I saw some abysmal CV's for the time I was there, one was 24 pages long!!
As a result from that I have always tailored my CV for each individual job I am applying for.
I can't believe companies charge for this service. I was once told you can tell the CV's that have been written by these companies because they are all the same.0 -
I agree...writing a special CV per job application is the way to go...just wish it could be more enjoyable!!For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070

I have seen the CV's produced by jobcentres they're cruddy to say the least. Can't believe that anyone would pay for a CV review - I will do it for free. I have a standard CV that I tweak according to the jobs that I am applying for although now my CV is my CV because not applying for anymore jobs as setting up on own:D
Seriously, I will review a CV for free.0 -
