L&G are normally pretty cheap. In the top 3 normally when you check the comparison websites out. I would be a bit annoyed if I had to take all 3. End of the day if she is a First Time Buyer affordabilty should also be an issue the adviser should be aware of.
If you take on will that stop the fee?
If so would be tempted to go for the critical illness I reckon because the B&C can be bought monthly from someone else and I am not sure I thought the payment protection is that goo valuer for money - in buy opinion.
Let us know the outcome.0 -

These can normally be cancelled after a couple of months. The question is whether the iFa will then come chasing you for hisb £380 because his commission will be clobbered if the policies stop early. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Does she have to go with this mortgage? As a Ftb she should have quite a choice of lenders and can apply directly if she chooses. I realise time is of essence but it may be worth it in the long run. She also ought to check for "arrangement" fees and "administration" fees which these IFAs charge. I would challenge the advice as I am sure critical illness cover and payment protection are not mandatory on mortgages. She can always shop around for these at a later stage if she wants them.0
