baptism- advice?

my ds grandad is catholic, and has asked if i will get ds baptised in the catholic church. my parents were catholic and CofE and my sister and i were never 'done' as they wanted to leave it up to us when we were older- my sister is now a muslim and i am nowt!

i have no problem with ds being baptised, and it is really important to his grandad

my question is-how do i go about it????

thanks!

Years ago it was straight forward, my son, now 15 was baptised catholic, I had to attend classes to ensure I knew what was expected of me and he was 'done' no probs. My 2 month old is now a different matter, I have not been to church in some 8 years or so and recently went to my cousins baptism where the priest made it clear that parents could not just have their baby 'done' (his words) and we were expected to attend church with the child and have him receive all the other sacraments too (going up to 12 years old). This has put me right off, but I still really want my son baptised for reasons Im sure your grandad will explain to you.
Anyway my intention is to approach one of the other priests (or maybe email him, yes they are in the 21st century when they want to be!) and see where that leaves me. From what I can gather it seems different rules dependant on the priest these days.
Anyway the best thing to do is approach your local priest and enquire, Im sure if you explain the situation, he will talk through your options.
    Good luck!
