I want to go away with my oh, we were talking of Florida but there's no way I can get enough cash together in tame (boyf has been before and insists it isn't worth going until I have a small fortune in spending money as I will want to buy just about everything. Which is prob true
)
So anyway, we have settled on a small holiday for now (with a view to me hopefully saving enough cash for florida next year... booo
)
He wants to do some scuba diving, I want some fun stuff- parascending, water parks etc. so after looking around I have decided Gran Canria would be a good place- flights are fairly cheap etc etc.
Problem is... where can we go that isn't full of um..... the type of people you wouldn't want to holiday with- football holigans, drunken louts etc etc y'know who I mean- that stereotypical "Brit abroad"/ neighbour from hell type...
Any suggestions for a peacefull place to stay that's not too far from the beach/culture and fun stuff?? (not too concerned with bars... unless there are any quiet trendy ones!)

I went to Gran Canaria about 7 years ago when i was 13, and my impression was tht it was full of the english people u want to get away from. But i suppose it may just have been where we were.....to me it was the same as every other spanish type island. I'd recomend Bulgaria.:cool:"More people would learn from their mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them." - Harold J. Smith:cool:0

The noisiest place is Playa Del Ingles... I'd avoid that. I went to Puerto Rico and it was OK... but for every paella you find you'll find 100 offers of a full English Breakfast, so I'd never go back. I went to Lanzarote last year and that was much nicer.
Maybe look at www.gran-canaria-info.com but look into other Canary Islands... last September my boyfriend and I rented a private apartment, bought flights and hired a car for just over £600 total, so they're all quite cheap.OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0
