DLA giro hasn't arrived to my house yet due this week - what shall I do?

I still recieve my DLA benefit through the post in a giro and this Wednesday a payment was due. I haven't recieved the giro at all in the post.

I contacted them yesterday and they said they'll send a decleration form out at once. I still haven't recieved that.

We've got a useless postman who seems to send letters out for other adresses instead of ours, and I'm really desperate for the money to help cover me over between now and the 28th when I get paid for work.

What shall I do?

  • if youve contacted the DLA people i dont really see what else you can do,other than contact your bank and ask for a temporary overdraft extension?
might be worth contacting the local post office sorting office to complain especially if this is happening on a rgeullar basis, who knows it may even be lying their waiting for you..

The first thing to do is arrange your benefit to be paid straight into a bank account. You won't be reliant on Royal Mail to deliver your money on time.

Ask to see if it's possible to arrange to pick up your Gyro at the local JobCenter.

I've asked for that when they fubar'ed up my Jobseekers Allowance payments one month! If they OK it then it should take a hour or two to get the details to your local office and for them to print out a Gyro.
