baby passport

How long does it take for baby passport to come through?

We have flight booked in September and due date 19th July, is this enough time to get baby passport?

What do we have to do to get it?

May be a bit difficult to get a newborn photo right in a photo booth.

We use www.passpic.com and upload our own photos. It takes about 3-4 days to get the photos back.

The passport should take 10-14 days to arrive, so long as you have correctly filled in the form and have acceptable photos.

Ours took about two weeks - passport office is much more professional than a few years ago. We had a call from the 'case officer' a few days after sending it advising us that the form had been accepted and the passport would be with us within the week - it was.

Don't use a photo booth, far better to go to somewhere that takes the photo for you. Ours were done at an outlet in Asda. The baby is laid down and the photographer will take photos until one which fits the criteria is taken - it was only a bout £1 more than a booth too.

I had my passport photos taken at a "proper" photographers shop, I think they all do them.

    Truprint do babies passport pics

In prep you could get the application form over the next few weeks - and remember you will need his/her full birth certificate. This can be obtained from the registry office a few days after birth (you will usually need an appointment)

I got a baby passport back in about 10 days recently.

I took my own picture. I put her on the sofa against a white cot sheet and snapped a few pics until I got a suitable one. I cropped it on the PC and resized it and it was fine.

I also did DIY pics for my passport and my eldests sons which both needed renewing too.
Here I go again on my own....

I would recommend getting the photo done in a photo shop (I used to work in a well know one starting with a J) they will make sure it fits the criteria. This is much better than being turned away at the Post Office which seems to happen a lot!
