Single Bank Threads

The arrival of the "Citibank Club" thread again has left me wondering why there appear to be no other (or very few) single bank threads in this forum. Obviously there are many that deal with just a single bank / single issue (or more generally, threads that start that way but veer off into something entirely different
).
What I mean is, why are there not wide-ranging "HSBC club" or "Abbey club" threads?
Is it purely that they would end up too large?
But wouldn't they almost act as FAQs for issues at that particular bank?
Sorry to ramble, but I find it a bit puzzling, and am hoping that one of the long-time residents of this forum can put me out of my misery ...;)

Imprudent granting of credit is bound to prove just as ruinous to a bank as to any other merchant.

I think the reason there is a Citibank thread is that last year loads of people were being accepted and there was quite a buzz for the bank .. It died down after a while but appears to have been re-energised of late ...:happylove Tori Bellatrix :happylove

Tori Bellatrix,
thanks for the response.
I sort of gathered that from reading the Citibank thread.
But why didn't the same sort of thing happen with Icesave, or Kaupthing Edge, or ICICI, or ...
There were obviously threads (numerous ones) on new banks / accounts such as these, but they have splintered into many different threads.
There have been other threads for Citibank issues (roughly between a dozen and twenty) but the vast majority of posts (90% or more) re Citibank have been on the Citibank Club or Recent CitiBank Applicant? threads (Didn't pick up on the latter one earlier - only one post on it since I have been on this forum).
Is it just one of those things? ... In essence, a fluke ... and that separateness is viewed as the "normal" way to do things?Imprudent granting of credit is bound to prove just as ruinous to a bank as to any other merchant.
