Transfering - a few questions

Hi
I am considering transfering my current account with Natwest to Alliance and Leicester, but I have a couple of questions I'm hoping some of you may have experience of.

1, My current account is a joint account with my wife, will this be a problem
2, Some of the info on the website states only 1 income can be transfered, but my wife also has an income - ?
3, As it states I can recieve 8.5% upto £2500 pm as opposed to virtually nowt with NW, is it worth my bother (our joint income is c.£3500 pm v end of month balance c.£400 pm)
4, Any nightmare stories re their 'superb transfer process'

I'm hoping some of the experts here can help with this
